Whether you are new to energy work, or just looking to learn little more about the Energy buzz, I’m sure you are coming upon this word “Chakras”.

What on earth is a Chakra?

Well, I would like to help you with that question.

“Chakra” is the term given to your bodies energy centers which rule the systems of the body. There are 7 widely recognized Chakras, however, there are many smaller ones too. These are what keeps your body in a balanced state of health and wellness, beyond diet and exercise.  These 7 “chakras” are considered a part of the bodies “energy systems”.  Although you may have heard and understand the term, “Everything is Energy”, it is these systems that make us different from a rock.  A rock is energy too, however, a rock does not have “energy systems” that assist humans in thinking, feeling, sensing, etc…..

Where are these Chakras?

chakra-chart_356172404_stdThe 7 main chakras run up the torso ending at the top of the head.  The first chakra, the Root Chakra is in your perineum area and the associated with it is Red.  The second chakra, the Sacral Chakra is between the top of your pubic bone and your belly button, and the colour associate with it is Orange. The third chakra is the Solar Plexus Chakra and it is just below the apex of where your rib cage meets in the front.  Its’ associated colour is Yellow.  The fourth chakra is the Heart Chakra.  This is located in the centre of your chest and its’ associated colour is Green.  The fifth chakra is the Throat Chakra and it is located right in that notch at the bottom of your neck.  The associated colour with the Throat Chakra is Blue.  The sixth chakra is the Brow or Third Eye Chakra.  It is located in the centre of your forehead and the colour associated with it is Indigo.  the last of the major chakra, the seventh chakra is the Crown Chakra.  This is located just slightly to the back of the very top centre of your head.  Its’ colour is Violet.

Why do I need to know about these chakras?

Well, the simple answer is you don’t need to know at all.  However, since your here let’s teach you a little bit.

Those people who don’t know a thing about chakras are normal people, leading normal lives.  They go to work, have families, go on vacation…you know, everything ticks along just fine.  There might even be the days when they are about to do something and there is something in the back of their mind that says not to, or they have a headache or a stomach ache.  As a person who does not know about chakras, the “ill-health” might be written off to nerves or bad chicken last night, BUT, those of us that know a bit about the chakras know to look at these physical clues as a sign that what we are about to do may not be for our highest good.

A headache may be because we are ignoring the signals coming through to us from the universe.  It would be like pounding on a door that is locked.  Your fists get sore from the pounding, and you can’t stop the pounding until the door is opened. Or, a stomach ache could be taken as a sign that you can not stomach an action. It might physically make you sick.

Can my chakras make me sick?

Short answer is No. However, what can make you sick is not listening to the subtle clues that are constantly being given to you by your chakras.  If you occasionally have a cold and along with that cold you get a sore throat, I would not worry so much about that.  What I would wonder is why do you have a cold to begin with.

Now bear with me on this one.  The human body is always in a natural state of perfect health.  What puts us out of this state is our thoughts.  Here is an example:

A couple of months ago I was working a temporary job.  It was outside in the winter. For about a week I could feel that there was a cold trying to take hold.  Your know, sore throat, but not really, watery eyes, but not quite, clogged nose, but not really.  I had managed to stave it off, then “IT” happened.  I was by myself, being quite and a thought snuck in.  A negative self talk thought about myself.  My guard was down and this thought snuck past the gates and there is was.  It was enough of a negative thought that it made me cry.  That night, around supper time, the cold had taken hold.  My thoughts had upset my state of health.

See how that works.

Your physical body has the power to manifest dis-ease that correlates with your current mental state of being, sometimes also referred to as vibration.  If you are in a negative mental state, it is said that you are at a low vibration.  If you are in a happy go lucky state , then is can be said you are at a higher vibration.  These vibrations can actually be measured in Hertz and also correlate with the Alpha, Beta and Theta states of mind.

So my thoughts can make me sick?

Yes they can. Now before you run away with this you have to understand that you have to temper your thoughts.  We all have thoughts.  We have about 60,000 thoughts per day.  That is an enormous amount!  Of those 60,000 maybe 3,000 were about work, 2,500 were about driving, 1,500 were about meals/cooking/food, etc.  And maybe when everything boils down there were 1,000 personal thoughts.  Of those 1,000, maybe 500 were about how you should have, could have, would have.  How stupid or dumb you were not to.  Why did you eat that extra cookie, or have that pop which you really didn’t want.  Why did Joe from the office down the hall give you that fully look (little do you know that Joe had just popped a piece of rotten orange in his mouth and his look had nothing to do with you).  Why don’t you make more money, why do you carry and extra 30 lbs?  Why don’t you look like that model in the magazine?  ….blah….blah….blah…..

How would anyone react to this kind of bulls**t.  They would turn their back on you and walk away.  Well, your body can’t, so it says to itself “there’s another though that says I can’t go this way, or that way, or my path is blocked”.  What happens when things get blocked?  There is build up and build up and build up and then eventually something has to give.  What gives is usually your health.

What can I do about it?

Listen to your body. If there is pain, try to understand why there is pain.

Here is another example:  A sore and arthritic ankle.  The ankle was shattered 20 years ago but therechakra healing wounds was a successful surgery and the bone regenerates once every 3 months so everything should be good.  Well, 20 years later you are hopping and hobbling about.  Why?  The bone regenerates every 3 months.  In 20 years you have had 80 new ankles, so why are you still limping?

The ankle is also a key element to walking.  Walking moves you forward.  If you do not want to move forward with your life, then the ankle may never heal to its’ full potential.  You also have to believe that the ankle will heal to 100% of what it was.  We are conditioned to believe that once something is broken it will never be the same and there is no physical reason why this is true.  The only cells in the body that do not regenerate are brain cells.

I hope that I have offered a little insight into why the chakra system is so important to understand.  There will be little nudges, little hints, little nuances.  If you work with those, then you should have a healthy and happy life.  If you ignore then, then you might just be looking for trouble.

Thank you for letting me share with you.
