What is EFT?

eft handEFT is a form of psychological acupressure, based on the same energy   meridians used in traditional acupuncture to treat physical and   emotional ailments for over five thousand years, but without the  invasiveness of needles. Instead, simple tapping with the fingertips is  used to input kinetic energy onto specific meridians on the head and  chest while you think about your specific problem – whether it is a  traumatic event, an addiction, pain, etc. — and voice positive   affirmations.

This combination of tapping the energy meridians and voicing positive  affirmation works to clear the “short-circuit” – the emotional block —   from your body’s bioenergy system, thus restoring your mind and body’s  balance, which is essential for optimal health and the healing of  physical disease.

Some people are initially wary of these principles that EFT is based  on – the electromagnetic energy that flows through the body and  regulates our health is only recently becoming recognized in the West.   Others are initially taken aback by (and sometimes amused by) the EFT  tapping and affirmation methodology.

EFt is generally self performed and with a few basic instructions and protocols you too can benefit from the effects of this modality.

How to incorporate EFT into your life.

If you are like most there are parts of your day that bring in a lot of stress. Sick children, maybe a job interview, financial strains…..these all cause emotional and physical stress in the body.  If people do not take time to release this stress, it can manifest as illness in the body.

A simple way to relieve stress is using the Emotional Freedom Technique called the Thymus Thump.  Quite simple actually.  Make a fist and with moderate pressure, thump your Thymus Gland. Being a busy Mom and business owners and wife, there are lots of times in my week when I just don’t eat as well as I should. You are also able to use EFT to help you lose weight.  In this link to show you how to use EFT to achieve weight loss (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nq4S8DhK_r8) I want you to notice the way he speaks of weight loss.  I have always said…be careful in what you want to lose, because, when you lose something, you are always inclined to try and find it again.

A more effective way to think about weight loss, is to focus on someone who may need it and offer your extra weight to them as a gift.  Or, instead of saying “I need to lose weight”, which, underneath the phrase is a negative connotation. You are not stating that you want to lose weight, or, you are not stating that you will lose weight to make things easier for your body, State that you love yourself and you want health and vitality for your body

The energy and intention your put into your thoughts are as important as the thought its-self.
